The Orlando Magic look to bounce back in game two of the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Boston Celtics Wednesday night. The Magic led the Celtics at halftime in game one of the series, showing early signs of potential. But a second-half collapse, where Boston tightened up its defense and found an offensive rhythm, led to a 17-point loss for the Magic, who now look to bounce back in game two.
Optimism for Orlando
Despite the final score, Orlando still has reasons for optimism. Franz Wagner and Paolo Banchero both had strong halves. Wagner totaled 23 points and Banchero 36 in game one. If they can keep it consistent for a full 48 minutes, it could pose a real threat to the Celtics’ momentum.

Tatum’s Injury Looms
Questions loom going into Wednesday’s game for Boston. Celtics star Jayson Tatum is dealing with a bone bruise in his wrist and has been listed as doubtful. Tatum sustained the injury as he took a flagrant foul and landed on his right wrist. He was able to finish the game and told reporters after that the X-rays came back negative. Tatum struggled in game one, shooting just 8-for-22 from beyond the arc. If he is unable to play, the Celtics will have to lean on Jaylen Brown, Derrick White and Kristaps Porzingis to generate offense.
Celtics Depth Could Be the Difference
Boston has proved to be capable of weathering injuries all season. Jrue Holiday and former Gator Al Horford anchor the Celtic defense that will aim to continue disrupting the Magic’s ball movement and transition play. Boston dominated the boards in game one, a trend it will aim to continue going into game two. Beyond the playoffs, Holiday was recently named a finalist for the NBA Social Justice Champion Award. Additionally, Payton Pritchard was named the Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year for the first time.
