Godfrey’s homecoming
Before her college career, Godfrey was a standout at Tampa Bay Tech High School. She was ranked No. 40 overall player and the No. 8 point guard in the Class of 2021. Godfrey led her team to three district titles, two regional championships, two final four appearances in the playoffs and one state championship during her three-year prep career.
The athletic combo-guard is bringing some winning pedigree to the Gators.
Flashes of Brilliance
Before her injury, Godfrey made her presence felt during her freshman season at TCU. She appeared in 26 games, making 12 starts while averaging 4.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.
She exploded for a career-high 26 points and eight rebounds in her collegiate debut against Lipscomb and later posted 17 points in Big 12 play against Texas. Throughout her first full season, Godfrey displayed her playmaking ability with 33 assists and 17 steals showing versatility on both ends of the floor.

Godfrey’s combination of experience, size and defensive energy will add versatility to the Gators guard rotation. As Florida looks to build off a 19-18 season, her ability to create plays and handle pressure will give coach Kelly Rae Finley another weapon heading into next season.
Returning to her home state, a fresh start in Gainesville could set the stage for Godfrey to make a major impact in the orange and blue.
