The last tipoff of the Orlando Magic’s 2024-2025 regular season ended with a loss last night against the Atlanta Hawks. The buzzer sounded with a final score of 117-105, leaving the Magic with a season record of 41-41, good enough for the seventh seed in the East.

The Break of Magic’s Five-Game Winning Streak
With the Atlanta Hawks defeating the Orlando Magic 117-105, the Magic’s five-game winning streak was broken. As for the Hawks, they closed off their regular season with a three-game winning streak and 40-42 overall.
The Magic-Hawks Recap
The Hawks managed to shoot 53.4 percent from the field, completing 17 3-pointers. The Magic came close behind, marking 44.9 percent and completing 15 3-pointers.
Both teams had seven players finish off the game in double figures. Two of the Magic’s seven were Anthony Black and Jonathan Isaac. Black had 20 points and 10 rebounds while Isaac scored 12 points and 10 rebounds. As for the Hawks, Terance Mann had 19 points and 3 rebounds while Keaton Wallace scored 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The two teams played a heavy game of tug-of-war throughout the first quarter, inching for the leading score every few minutes. Towards the end of the first quarter, the teams tied at 24-24 before the Hawks steamed forward. By the end of the first quarter, the Hawks were up 31-24. Ending in the second, the Hawks were up 58-46. This 12-point lead resulted in the Hawks keeping the lead by the end of the third, 92-84, before inevitably winning the game 105-117.
Next Up: Magic’s Play-In Tournament
The Orlando Magic will have a rematch with the Hawks this Tuesday in the play-in tournament. In this tournament, the winning team will look to receive the No. 7 spot in the playoffs. Consequently, the losing team will enter into an elimination game with the winner of the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat. The game will be held in the Kia Center in Orlando, with tip-off starting at 7:30 p.m.
