Quarterback Spotlight
There are many questions surrounding the medical status of starting quarterback DJ Lagway. The quarterback sensation is expected to just do handoffs due to his shoulder injury, opening the door for backups Harrison Bailey, Aidan Warner and freshman Tramell Jones Jr. to take center stage. Warner has been making waves throughout spring training, giving Gators fans something to watch this Saturday.
Florida released the full roster for both Orange and Blue teams on Thursday.
The Orange Team will be led by offensive pieces like quarterback Jones Jr. and redshirt sophomore running back Treyaun Webb, while defensively it’ll showcase junior safety Bryce Thornton.
Meanwhile, the Blue Team features redshirt sophomore quarterback Warner, sophomore running back Jadan Baugh and freshman wide receiver Naeshaun Montgomery. On defense, look out for redshirt senior defensive lineman Tyreak Sapp, junior linebacker Grayson Howard and senior defensive back Devin Moore.
The coaching staff has created competitive, balanced teams to simulate real-game situations and evaluate depth heading into summer.
Freshmen and Standouts to Watch
After having a great recruiting class (No. 7 nationally), the Gators newcomers are expected to make an immediate impact and start having significant playing time. Eyes will be on:
- Vernell Brown III
- Dallas Wilson
- Naeshaun Montgomery
- Jayden Woods
- Ben Hanks III

Defensive side of the football
Veterans like Sapp, redshirt senior defensive linemen Jamari Lyons and Caleb Banks will patrol the defensive line. Meanwhile, players like Grayson Howard will remain in the middle of the field with the linebacker unit.
With the size and depth of the roster, quickness and physicality are expected.
Halftime Celebration
Also, the game will lend itself to a unique celebration, as the newly crowned national champion Florida men’s basketball team will have a halftime celebration of their championship win Monday in San Antonio.
Coach Todd Golden and the entire basketball roster will be present at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
