The Buchholz Bobcats girls lacrosse team defeated the Groveland South Lake Eagles 14-2 on Thursday to advance to the 2A-District 5 semifinals.
Senior Gabri Trimboli scored the opening goal with 11:24 remaining to give Buchholz a 1-0 lead against the visitors.

Trimboli also scored the final goal of the first quarter to give Buchholz a 4-0 lead with 5:25 remaining against South Lake (2-11).
Domination Continues
Trimboli opened up the scoring in the second quarter to give Buchholz a 5-0 lead with 10:21 remaining. Junior Gabby Kutz scored her second of the game to make it 7-0 with 5:18 remaining. The Bobcats (12-5) went into halftime with a commanding 8-0 lead.
Trimboli scored her fourth and final goal of the game to make it 12-2 Buchholz with 9:12 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Buchholz coach Marissa Higgins took out several of her starters during parts of the second and third quarter.
“I have a 35-girl roster and every single girl works hard every day,” Higgins said. “Each girl has proven themselves time and time again.”
She said she wanted to use the team’s depth and not exhaust the main players in lieu of Monday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal in Winter Garden West Orange against the Ocala Forest Wildcats–Lake Minneola Hawks winner from Thursday’s other quarterfinal. West Orange (11-4) plays Clearmont East Ridge (10-7) in the night’s other semifinal. Monday’s winners play in Tuesday’s 6:30 p.m. title match.

Trimboli said she did not view the game much differently from a regular season game.
“I just treated it like any game,” Trimboli said. “Even though I knew it would be an easy game, I went into it as if it was going to be a hard game.”
