The Gators lead the series at an all-time 31-8 record. Furthermore, they’ve won 20 of the last 21 games in Gainesville, taking the past 15 consecutive home contests. However, Mizzou swept the series last year at a neutral site.
The Tigers are currently ranked last in the SEC, winning none of their conference games. Although the Gators are struggling in their own way, tallying only one more conference win, a series sweep will change the trajectory of their season.
Midweek Wins
The Gators are heading into the weekend after winning their series against No. 9 Florida State. Their 5-4 win was crucial heading into the weekend as it will boost their confidence and carry momentum into rallying against Missouri.
Against the Seminoles, freshman Brendan Lawson proved to be a force at the plate after bringing Luke Heyman home with a double in the third and a three-run homer in the fifth.

Heyman was the other Gator to have an RBI. Florida will take advantage of these hot bats against Mizzou to produce runs on offense.
Over on the mound, the pitchers combined 12 strikeouts. Although they walked seven, the Gator defense completed three double plays which helped keep the Noles trailing.
The Tigers are also heading into the series on a road win. They won 11-8 against Southern Illinois University. Before that they were swept against No. 2 Arkansas.
Looking Ahead
Right-handed pitcher Liam Peterson (4-2, 3.63 ERA) will take the mound Thursday for UF, throwing the first pitch at 7 p.m. RHP Aidan King (3-1, 3.12) is set to be Florida’s starting pitcher on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Saturday’s pitcher is still to be determined.
Missouri’s starting pitcher for Thursday is left-hander Kehlenbrink (0-2, 9.64), and Friday’s is RHP Kaden Jacobi (2-4, 9.93).
Both Thursday and Saturday’s game will be on the SEC Network, and Friday’s game will be aired on SEC Network+. As always, the games will also be covered on ESPN 98.1-FM/850-AM WRUF + WJXL 1010AM.
