Jaguars Aim for Explosive Offense in 2025 Draft

The Jacksonville Jaguars want Trevor Lawrence to thrive. To do that, they need weapons, protection, and smart planning. In January, the Jaguars hired Liam Coen as head coach. He brings creativity and proven success as a play-caller. Jacksonville immediately started building around Lawrence. They signed four offensive linemen in free agency, including Robert Hainsey and Patrick Mekari. Both should start this fall. The running back room already has talent. Travis Etienne leads the way, with Tank Bigsby right behind him. Still, the Jaguars could add more depth if the opportunity appears. The wide receiver group, however, needs a spark. Brian Thomas Jr. stands as the top option. Dyami Brown joins him after signing in free agency. Gabe Davis and Parker Washington bring veteran presence, but something still feels missing.

That’s where Mel Kiper steps in. In his latest mock draft, the ESPN analyst gives Jacksonville a playmaker: Emeka Egbuka. The Ohio State wideout falls to the Jaguars at pick No. 36. For a second-round pick, he brings first-round ability. The Jaguars don’t feel pressure to grab a wide receiver early. They added Brown. Washington keeps improving. But Egbuka looks like a perfect fit, he runs sharp routes, finds open space, and creates after the catch.

More weapons for Lawrence

Up front, they continue investing. At No. 5 overall, The Athletic projects them picking LSU’s Will Campbell. Coen likes the group but stays cautious. “Let’s wait and see what it truly looks like,” he says. On defense, the Jaguars go heavy. Walter Nolen, Oluwafemi Oladejo, and Trey Amos all land in Jacksonville. Each brings production, grit, and potential. In some mocks, the Jaguars even make trades. They target stars like Travis Hunter or Will Johnson. Others project tight end Tyler Warren.

But if Kiper’s scenario plays out, the Jaguars would get the best. Emeka Egbuka gives Trevor Lawrence exactly what he needs, a weapon that can make the difference.
