The Florida Gators fought back from a 12-point deficit in the second half Monday to beat the Houston Cougars 65-63 in the NCAA Tournament title game at the Alamodome in San Antonio for the school’s third national championship.
This marked the fourth comeback in six NCAA Tournament wins for the Gators (36-4) and their 12th consecutive win. They led this game for a total of 64 seconds, including the last 46 ticks of a contest that was in limbo until the final shot that never came thanks to Florida’s defensive play.
