The Florida Gators track and field teams continued the outdoor season with their first stint at home on Day 1 of the Pepsi Florida Relays.
The Gators did a good job Friday defending James G. Pressly Stadium by setting another NCAA record this season, three finishes in the school record books and advancing to multiple finals.
Track Records
The men’s 4×400 team set the best NCAA time this season for the second straight week. The team of Ashton Schwartzman, Rios Prude Jr., Nicholas Spikes and Markevus Jackson ran a 3:03.62 race to qualify for the finals on Day 2.

Tia Wilson and Joe Wester both set top-10 times in the 1500m. Wilson continues her strong 2025 campaign by coming in second at 4:13.92, setting the No. 7 time in UF history. On the men’s side, Wester finished third and landed at No. 6 program history with a 3:43.21 performance.
Both Gator teams in the 4x100m advanced to the event’s final. The women’s team of Quincy Penn, Anthaya Charlton, Habiba Harris and Thalia Waters came in fourth in the first round with a time of 43.99. The men’s team of Justin Braun, Garrett Fox, Malique Smith-Band and Jaden Wiley placed seventh at 39.25.
Field Finishes
On the field events, Leikel Cabrera Gay set a personal best with his 77.13m effort in the men’s javelin throw. His third-place finish beat the mark he set last week. He also earned the No. 5 spot in program history right after taking the No. 6 (now No. 7) spot last week.
Alida van Daalen, who had a strong debut at the FSU Relays last week, finished second in the women’s discus invite. Her 61.69m effort was just more than six meters farther than Auburn’s Maura Huwalt at 55.76m who finished third. Gracelyn Leiseth finished in eighth with a 51.43m throw.
Freshman Alyssa Banales secured fourth place in the women’s long jump invite with a 6.15m leap. She was just short of passing her score of 6.20m in Tallahassee where she won the event.
