Florida Swimming and Diving Earns 64 All-American Honors

The University of Florida placed 22 student-athletes on the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-American list. The Gators earned 64 total honors, including 41 First-Team and 23 Second-Team selections.

These awards follow the men’s and women’s strong performances at the 2025 NCAA Championships.

How Honors Are Earned

All-American honors are based on finishes at the NCAA Championships. The top eight in each event earn First-Team recognition. Those who finish ninth through sixteenth receive Second-Team honors. Only student-athletes who compete in the championship finals are eligible.

Men’s Team Finishes Fourth at Nationals

The Florida men’s team finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington, from March 26–29. Eleven athletes earned All-American status, totaling 33 honors. The Gators claimed four national titles and had 19 top-16 finishes.

One of the highlights was the 400 medley relay win. Jonny Marshall, Josh Liendo, Julian Smith, and Alexander Painter finished in 2:56.10, setting a new NCAA meet record.

Liendo and Smith each collected six First-Team honors. Liendo won the 100 freestyle for the third year in a row. He also defended his title in the 100 butterfly. Smith made history by winning the school’s first NCAA title in the 100 breaststroke.

Women’s Team Places Sixth with Big Impact

The Gator women’s team finished sixth at the NCAA Championships, held March 19–22 in Federal Way. This marked the program’s third-straight top-10 national finish. Eleven athletes were honored with 31 All-American selections—17 First-Team and 14 Second-Team.

Sophomore Bella Sims led the way with six honors. She placed second in both backstroke events and helped the Gators to top-three finishes in the 400 medley and 800 freestyle relays. Sims also helped set a new school record in the 200 medley relay and broke individual records in the 100 back and 100 free.

Continued Excellence

Florida Swimming and Diving continues to show why it is among the best in the country. With 22 All-Americans and multiple record-breaking performances, the future looks bright for the Gators.
