Prior to his arrival at Florida, Turner played for the Washington Huskies from 2019-2023. He played in seven games with six starts, including starting all three postseason games in 2023 with the Huskies. Throughout his college career, he has experienced multiple injuries that have prohibited him from playing to his full potential. Turner transferred to Florida for the 2024 season.

Turner experienced a leg injury in the third quarter of Florida’s season opener against Miami in the 2024 season. He had undergone surgery on his right hamstring following the injury. Turner missed 12 of the Gators’ 13 games.
Rumors were thrown around that Turner would be present for Pro Day that took place last Thursday. Napier said then that Turner did in fact receive an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA.
“I think his role on our team and his health is a little bit to be determined,” Napier said. “But, I think, in general, it’s a good thing for him. His career has been extended for a year, and then we’ll kind of see where we end up. But, yeah, I think a guy who has had injury issues throughout his career, not only here but also Washington, but a great kid. Very smart. Very dependable. Just, gotta work on the durability piece.”
The Washington veteran came to Florida expecting to be an impact player for the Gators despite his multiple injuries with the Huskies. Unfortunately, this didn’t go as planned, however, his extra year of eligibility allows him another opportunity to advance in his collegiate career.
