NCAA Gymnastics Postseason Preview

The NCAA Gymnastics postseason is set. Here is a sneak peak of the Gators’ and other top programs’ road to the Final Four on the Floor on April 19.

How it Works

The bracket is divided into four regionals throughout the country. The NCAA decides the hosts years in advance through a bidding process. The top 16 teams maintain their rankings, resulting in four ranked teams per regional.

Round one is a play-in meet, which consists of two teams in each regional fighting for a spot in each semifinal. There are two regional semifinals, and the top-seed is given the night session. The top two scoring teams from each advance to the regional finals two days later.

The top two scores from each final advance to the NCAA Championship semifinal on April 17 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Alabama Regional

The Gators are the top seed headed to Tuscaloosa.

In the regional semifinal, No. 3 Florida faces No. 14 Oregon State and the nation’s top all-arounder, Jade Carey. NC State also awaits the Gators, while Clemson and Rutgers will compete in the play-in to claim the final spot.

The No. 11 Crimson Tide are the other SEC squad representing the region. In that semifinal, Alabama will compete against No. 6 California, North Carolina and Iowa.

Pennsylvania Regional

The LSU Tigers, fresh off their second consecutive SEC Championship, are the No. 1 seed in the tournament. They’ll travel to University Park for the Pennsylvania Regional.

After missing out on the conference meet, Arkansas rounds out the ranked teams at No. 16. The Razorbacks and the Michigan Wolverines face LSU in the regional semifinal. Maryland and West Virginia will fight for the last spot.

In the early session, No. 7 Missouri, No. 10 Georgia, Arizona and Arizona State go head-to-head.

Utah Regional
