After the departure of senior running back Montrell Johnson Jr. multiple players are in contention to take over the top spot on Florida’s depth chart. The Gators have brought in multiple running back prospects in the 2025 recruitment class. However, they already have four running backs who are set to battle it out for that top roster spot.
Jadan Baugh
Baugh had a breakout freshman year campaign. He ran for 673 yards and seven touchdowns. In the first six games of the season, Baugh ran for a total of 153 yards. During the remaining seven games, he ran for 520 yards. Entering the season as a sophomore, Baugh comes in with the most experience from the previous year, having 133 attempts on the season.
During an interview with the media, Gator running back coach Jabbar Juluke spoke on Baugh stating “He’s a work in progress, he’s very talented. He loves football, he’s not in love with it yet… we’re trying to get him in love with football, and his ceiling is extremely high.”

Ja’Kobi Jackson
Based on reps during the 2024 season, Jackson was listed as third on the depth chart. He rushed for 509 yards on 95 attempts. Although, he did not get the most field experience last season. He will enter the 2025 season as the only senior running back on the roster.
Two of his four highest rushing games came during the last two games of the season against Florida State and Tulane. Furthermore, Jackson scored a rushing touchdown in four of his last six games. He will aim to build on his late season momentum when the 2025 season begins.
Treyaun Webb
Webb is a player that will look to have a larger role for the upcoming season. Webb ran for 93 yards on the season on 21 attempts. Although, all of Webb’s rushing yards and attempts were during the first four games of the season. During spring practice, Webb has a chance to impress the coaches and gain a bigger role in the 2025 season’s offense.
KD Daniels
Daniels is a redshirt freshman that is one to watch for the upcoming season. Daniels had three rushing attempts in the Samford game. His next rushing opportunity did not come until the last regular season game against Florida State. When given a role in the bowl game against Tulane, Daniels flourished. He turned 5 attempts into 77 yards and a touchdown.
Daniels is a younger player in the running back room who will look to step-up this season and prove he deserves more reps in the offense.
