Gators Men’s Tennis On Road For LSU Match

The Florida Gators men’s tennis team is in to Baton Rouge to play LSU on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the LSU Tennis Complex.

Florida is 11-7 overall and 6-3 in SEC play. The Gators are on a three-game win streak after defeating Arkansas, Mississippi and Vanderbilt. Florida has struggled on the road at 2-5, but has dominated at home, 8-1.

LSU is 10-12 overall and 0-9 in conference play. The Tigers also have a stronger home court record of 9-4 and 1-6 away. After four consecutive losses, LSU beat Southern 7-0 on Sunday.

Mutual Matchups

Both teams lost to Texas. Florida lost 5-2, while LSU lost 4-3. Both teams also lost to Texas A&M, with UF falling 7-0 and LSU 4-1. Florida defeated Kentucky, 6-1, while LSU lost, 5-2. The Gators also defeated Vanderbilt, 4-0, while LSU lost, 4-3, to the Commodores. 

UF Vs. LSU History

In program history, UF has won 21 matches and lost six to LSU. Florida has won the last 12 matches. Their last face off was on March 3, 2024, a Gator win, 4-1. However, Florida had the home advantage in the teams last match. 

ITA Rankings

The team is No. 29 in the ITA rankings. Three Gators are ranked in singles play: No. 65 Jeremy Jin, No.113 Henry Jefferson and No. 124 Adhithya Ganesan. UF also has two doubles pairs ranked: No. 18 Tanapatt Nirundorn and Jefferson and No. 79 Nirundorn and Ganesan.

LSU has one team ranked in ITA doubles: No. 68 Julien Penzlin and Aleksi Lofman. The Tigers do not have any players ranked in the ITA singles rankings.
