Florida Gators men’s tennis is 11-7 overall and 6-3 in SEC play. The team has been dominant at the Alfred A. Tennis Complex, with a home record of 8-1. However, the team is 2-5 on the road.
The Gators sit at the No. 5 seed in the SEC rankings behind Texas, South Carolina, Texas A&M, and Tennessee.
The Gators have been able to get back on the winning track with a three-game win streak to Arkansas, 4-1, Mississippi, 5-2, and Vanderbilt, 4-0.
Florida started conference play at home with three wins back-to-back against Auburn, 7-0, Alabama, 4-3, and Kentucky, 6-1. However, the team lost their momentum at home losing to Texas, 2-5, followed by two road losses to Oklahoma, 0-4, and Texas A&M, 0-7.
ITA Rankings
The team is No. 29 in the ITA rankings. Florida increased from No. 31 after their win to Vanderbilt on Sunday. Three Gators are ranked in singles play: No. 65 Jeremy Jin, No.113 Henry Jefferson, and No. 124 Adhithya Ganesan. Jin is 4-4 overall this season, Jefferson is 9-5 overall, and Ganesan is 7-5 thus far.
UF also has two doubles pairs ranked: No. 18 Tanapatt Nirundorn and Jefferson and No. 79 Nirundorn and Ganesan. As a duo, Nirundorn and Jefferson and Nirundorn and Ganesan are 3-2 so far this season.
Looking Forward
Florida will travel to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Thursday. UF has one more road match against Mississippi State before returning home to face Georgia on April 3 followed by Tennessee on April 5. The team will finish up the regular season on the road against South Carolina on April 12.
