Leanne Wong Named AAI Award Finalist

Florida gymnastics senior Leanne Wong was named a finalist for the 2025 AAI Award on Wednesday. Out of 59 semifinalists, she now sits among six candidates for the “Heisman of Gymnastics.”

This award recognizes seniors for their leadership and performance in the sport.

Wong’s Success

As a 22-time All-American, Wong has an extensive résumé.

While enrolled in college, Wong continued to participate in the elite gymnastics scene. In addition to winning two World Championship gold medals in the team competition (2022, 2023), she served as a replacement athlete for the Paris and Tokyo Olympics.

Off the floor, she is pre-med at UF, seeking a degree in health education and behavior. Nicknamed “the CEO,” Wong runs a successful bow business and her own foundation, which donates leftover food from campus dining halls to the local homeless shelter. She also published a book last year: “My Journey: Trust the Process.”

As a Gator, Wong won the SEC Championship on beam in 2022 and 2023 and the NCAA Championship on uneven bars last season. She also received SEC Gymnast of the Week seven times in her career.

She achieved the gym slam, a perfect 10.0 on each apparatus. After scoring a 10.0 on floor against Kentucky last week, Wong is now second on Florida’s all-time 10s list.
