Veteran safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Houston Texans in exchange for offensive guard Kenyon Green and the swap of future draft picks. Additionally, wide receiver Demarcus Robinson has signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Robinson brings veteran depth to the 49ers from his time with the Los Angeles Rams.

Gardner-Johnson, known for his playmaking ability in the secondary, was a key contributor in the Eagles’ 2022 Super Bowl run. In the 2022 season, he notched six interceptions. Gardner-Johnson had a brief stint with the Detroit Lions in 2023, before returning to Philadelphia. Over his career, he has recorded 18 interceptions and over 300 tackles. His versatility will make him a valuable addition to the Texan’s defense.
Last season, Gardner-Johnson recorded six interceptions, including a 68-yard pick-six against the Cowboys.
