Florida Come Back

Hamilton, the Big 12 Freshman of the week, came out strong in the fourth quarter with two goals that tied the score 11-11. However, Navy responded with two more goals. UF trailed by two once again.

Florida came out of the timeout with the Hahn sister duo scoring again with 5:40 left. With 5:19 left, Florida was able to tie the scoreboard, 13-13, with a goal from Basso assisted by Hahn.

For the third goal in a row and the Gator win with 3:14 left on the clock, Jenny Markey scored another goal that was assisted by Hahn.

“I really have to compliment our team. We were down 11-7 and we could have packed it in and called it a day, but we didn’t,” coach Amanda O’Leary said. “We worked really hard, goal for goal, dug in defensively, made some saves, and got the ball in our offensives hands and they did the rest.”

Florida Record

Redshirt freshman Frannie Hahn had eight assists to tie for the most assists in one game in Florida history.

“We kind of expect that,” O’Leary said. “She has set the bar really high and she has exceeded all expectations for us. I could not be more proud of her effort.

“She has done a phenomenal job for us game in and game out and has not disappointed at all.”
