Despite an early week stumble, the Florida Gators held firm at No. 7 in this week’s D1Baseball Top 25 rankings, proving that a strong weekend showing can outweigh midweek struggles.
After a tough 13-3 loss to UCF on Tuesday, the Gators rebounded emphatically, dismantling Harvard in a three-game series with a staggering +35 run differential. Their offensive explosion included a 22-6 victory in the second half of Saturday’s doubleheader.

Weekly Performers
One of the key catalysts behind Florida’s offensive resurgence was Bobby Boser, who was nearly unstoppable at the plate. The senior infielder went 5-for-10 in the Harvard series, reaching base seven times via a walk and a hit-by-pitch. Boser scored seven runs and drove in ten. His bat tallied two home runs in the doubleheader opener, one of which was a grand slam. Notably, he did not strike out once all weekend, demonstrating exceptional discipline at the plate.
Ty Evans entered the series struggling, but used the doubleheader to find his rhythm. Before Saturday, Evans was hitting in the low .200s. Although after a 3-for-4 performance in the second half of the doubleheader, he recorded four runs, three RBIs, and fell just a home run short of the cycle. He boosted his batting average back up to .290. He might have found his groove just in time for the Gators’ upcoming SEC opener.
Along with Boser and Evans, Brody Donay made an impact on the week when he went 7-for-15 (.466) while scoring seven runs and batting in another five. Donay also found his way on base by drawing three walks and getting hit by three pitches.
Aidan King delivered a lights-out performance in his first weekend start, throwing six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts while allowing just two hits.
Despite its struggles earlier in the week, the pitching staff managed to tally 55 strikeouts and only 13 walks across all five games.
What’s Next for the Gators:
Florida now turns its attention to two undefeated opponents, both on the road. A highly anticipated in-state rivalry showdown awaits the team on Tuesday against No. 5 Florida State (15-0) before they head to Knoxville for their first SEC series of the season against the defending national champion No. 2 Tennessee (16-0). With these matchups looming, the Gators will need to build off their momentum to remain in the top 10.

Notable Shifts in the D1Baseball Top 25:
While the Gators held steady at No. 7, the rest of the rankings saw some significant shakeups. Texas A&M and Virginia, both top preseason teams, took tumbles after disappointing weeks. Virginia, previously No. 9, dropped a staggering 14 spots to No. 23 after losing a home series to Boston College, leaving them at 9-5 on the year. Texas A&M also slid five spots to No. 19 after a lackluster 3-2 week that included a midweek loss to UTSA and a Sunday defeat against New Mexico State.
Meanwhile, Stanford made its way into the rankings at No. 18, marking its debut after winning its ACC series opener on the road against No.4 UNC. The Cardinal’s ascent meant Oklahoma State fell out of the rankings after their 3-2 week dropped them to 9-6 overall.
