UF Men’s Tennis Faces Third Consecutive Loss

Florida Gators men’s tennis fell 7-0 to No. 15 Texas A&M on Saturday. The team is now 8-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play.

Doubles

On court two, Gator duo Henry Jefferson and Jeremy Jin faced Aggies pair Tiago Pires and JC Roddick. Jefferson and Jin were defeated 6-3. The Aggies claimed the doubles point after Texas A&M partners Luke Casper and Giulio Perego beat Kevin Edengren and JanMagnus Johnson 6-2 on court three.

No. 68 Tanapatt Nirundorn and Adhithya Ganesan were tied 4-4 against No. 52 Togan Tokac and Theo Papamalamis when the match went unfinished on court one.

Singles

No. 95 Ganesan lost first to No. 38 Papamalamis on court one. Ganesan lost the first set 7-5 followed by the second set 6-3. The Aggies were quick to gain the third point when Edengren lost to Tokac on court six, 6-2, 6-4. Texas A&M earned the win after Tanapatt Nirundorn lost to Casper 6-4, 7-5.

Texas A&M continued its momentum on court two with No. 62 Jin losing 6-2, 7-5 to No. 45 Roddick. On court 4, Jefferson went to a third set against Pires. Jefferson lost the first set 4-6, came back to win the second set 6-3, but lost momentum losing the third set 6-3.

On court three, Johnson lost the first set 3-6 against Alan Magadan, came back in a very close second set 7-6 (5), but lost the super tiebreak 10-6.

Looking Ahead

Florida will return back to the Alfred A. Tennis Complex on Saturday taking on the Arkansas Razorbacks. The match is set to start at 12 p.m.
