Florida Gators men’s tennis travels to take on No. 16 Oklahoma on Thursday at 6 p.m. for its first away match in conference play.
This is the first time the two teams will face each other since Oklahoma moved to the SEC.

The Gators are 8-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Gators defeated SEC opponents Auburn, No. 19 Alabama, and Kentucky. Sunday, No. 4 Texas broke Florida’s win streak, defeating the Gators 2-5.
The Sooners are 9-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play. Oklahoma has defeated Arkansas and No. 18 Tennessee. However, the Sooners are also coming into this match after a 3-4 loss to No. 12 Texas A&M on Sunday. This was Oklahoma’s second loss at home.
History
The only time Oklahoma and Florida played each other was on Feb. 19, 2017, at the ITA National Team Indoors Championships. Florida lost to Oklahoma 4-2 in the third round. The two teams have not faced off since.

The Gators have entered the top 25 rankings and are now seeded at No. 24.
Florida now has three players ranked in the top 100 ITA singles rankings: No. 2 Jeremy Jin, No. 90 Henry Jefferson, and No., 95 Adhithya Ganesan. Two Gators doubles pairs are ranked in the ITA doubles rankings: No. 19 Tanapatt Nirundorn and Jefferson and No. 68 Nirundorn and Ganesan.
Oklahoma has one ranked player in the ITA singles rankings, No. 76 Oscar Lacides, along with one doubles pair, No. 39 Lacides and Bruno Nhavene.
