The Raptors are 2-1 Over the Magic After Last Weekend
On Sunday, the Toronto Raptors (19-42) travelled to Orlando (29-33) to play against the Orlando Magic. The Magic recovered from the Raptors’ 19-point lead, and needed two points to even the score, when a backcourt turnover gave Orlando possession. Unfortunately, Magic small forward Franz Wagner missed a driving layup in the final 4.7 seconds of the game, causing the Magic to lose their fourth in five games.
The Raptors were led by Immanuel Quickley with 24 points, RJ Barrett with 22 points, and Jakob Poeltl with 16 points. Seventeen of Quickley’s points were scored in the second half, maintaining the Raptors lead over the Magic.
The Magic’s leading scorers were Wagner with 25 points, Paolo Banchero with 23 points, Wendell Carter Jr. with 14 points, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope with 12 points. These leading scorers pose a danger in Tuesday night’s game if their momentum continues and their desire to win remains strong.
Jalen Suggs Not Set to Return This Season
The Magic continue to struggle with the loss of shooting guard Jalen Suggs. Suggs has missed the last 15 games since his appearance against the Detroit Pistons. Jalen Suggs was the Magic’s third leading scorer, averaging 16.2 points and 3.7 assists. Today, Orlando Magic officials announced that Suggs successfully underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee on Monday. Suggs will be out for the remainder of the regular season and the entire postseason.

Raptors Suffer Injuries
Toronto Raptors announced both guard Gradey Dick and shooting guard Ochai Agbaji will be out of Tuesday’s game. In Sunday’s match, Dick suffered a right ischial tuberosity injury in his lower back and a hyperextended knee. Agbaji missed last weekend’s game due to a left ankle sprain and does not have a timeline for his return. Without Dick, who averages 14.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game, the Raptors’ offense is left without a key player.
Tonight’s Matchup
Although the Magic have lost their third-leading scorer this season, their defense remains strong and has the potential to stop the Raptor’s offense tonight. The Magic are stronger than the Raptors defensively, ranked No. 2 and No. 24 respectively. However, the Raptors’ offense is significantly stronger than the Magic’s, averaging 110.3 points and 28.4 rebounds per game compared to the Magic’s 104 points and 22.9 rebounds per game. Tuesday’s match will be an invigorating game as the Magic seek revenge for Sunday night’s two-point loss and the Raptors aim for a two game win streak.
