Florida Invitational Recap

The No. 3 Florida softball team continued its dominant season, finishing the Florida Invitational with a 9-1, six-inning victory over Florida A&M on Sunday at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. The Gators (23-1) extended their run-rule streak to six consecutive games and now have 16 on the season.

Senior Reagan Walsh led the offensive charge, blasting a home run for the third straight game, marking her fourth in Florida’s last three contests. Nine different Gators combined for 11 hits, while Walsh, Kendra Falby and Mia Williams each drove in two runs.

Sophomore Olivia Miller (3-0) started in the circle, allowing just one unearned run on two hits over four innings with three strikeouts. Senior Kara Hammock closed the game with two scoreless innings, allowing no hits and striking out one.

The Gators outscored their opponents 47-6 over the past five games, backed by stellar pitching that allowed just five earned runs in 29 innings.

Dominant Tournament Performance
Florida opened the tournament Friday with a 9-1, five-inning win over Samford. The Gators kept rolling Saturday, defeating Troy 11-2 in five innings and Western Michigan 10-2 in five innings, finishing the weekend undefeated.

Walsh delivered a standout performance throughout the week, batting .688 (11-for-16) over the last five games with seven extra-base hits—three doubles and four home runs. She finished the stretch with 11 RBIs.

Falby also had a historic weekend, stealing two bases against FAMU to bring her season total to 26 and career total to 108. She is five stolen bases away from tying Kelsey Stewart (113) for second-most in program history.
