After a disappointing end to the 2023-24 basketball season, LSU’s Hailey Van Lith announced her intentions to enter the transfer portal. Now moving to TCU, Van Lith will join her third school in three years.
The Tigers’ season ended in the Elite Eight, where they faced Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes in a rematch of the 2023 National Championship. Van Lith recorded nine points, but she went 2-10 from the field and 1-6 from three. The Tigers fell short 94-87.

Van Lith’s Time at Louisville
Before transferring to LSU, Van Lith played three seasons for the Louisville Cardinals. Averaging 19.7 points a game in the 2022-23 season, Van Lith was a First Team All-ACC and an AP Honorable Mention All-American.
The Cardinals reached the Elite Eight that year, but Van Lith was once again eliminated by the Iowa Hawkeyes. In her sophomore year, the 2021-22 season, she helped Louisville secure a spot in the Final Four.

Van Lith’s Time at LSU
After the 2022-23 season, Van Lith announced she would transfer to LSU. The Tigers had just won the National Championship and Angel Reese was returning to the program.
But after an underwhelming season, Van Lith was on the move again. She received no awards at LSU and was the sixth-leading scorer. However, she did lead the Tigers in assists, averaging 3.6 per game.

Moving to TCU
After attending two winning programs, Van Lith is moving to a school with unfamiliar characteristics. The TCU Horned Frogs finished ninth in the Big 12 in the 2023-24 season.
Despite making the NCAA Tournament, the Horned Frogs were knocked out in the second round by Mississippi State, a team Van Lith visited before choosing TCU.
Van Lith now joins Maddie Scherr, a transfer from Kentucky, hoping to lead the Horned Frogs to the top of the Big 12. This will be Van Lith’s fifth season in college basketball and the third university she’s attended.
