Dodgers at Diamondbacks: NLDS Game 3 Preview

The LA Dodgers will face off against the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 3 of the NLDS Wednesday night.

The Diamondbacks have stunned the baseball world, taking a 2-0 series lead over the 100-win Dodgers.

Game 1 Rewind

The Diamondbacks defeated the Dodgers in dominating fashion, 11-2, in the NLDS opener.

Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw surrendered six runs in the first inning alone.

Arizona was not finished, however, as the team scored three more runs in the second.

Tommy Pham finished the game with four hits and three runs. Corbin Carroll, Christian Walker and Alek Thomas contributed two runs a-piece.

The Dodgers could not find any offense until the eighth, but by then it was too late.

Game 2

Arizona defeated Los Angeles 4-2 in game two of the NLDS.

The Diamondbacks once again came out with a hot start, scoring three runs in the first.

From there, the offense was quiet. But, once again, Arizona suffocated a potent Los Angeles offense.

Los Angeles has gone 2-12 with runners in scoring position in the first two games of the series.

Game 3

The Diamondbacks have completely flipped the script on their performances in Dodger Stadium. Since 2020, they were 5-24 in Chavez Ravine.

Now, Arizona finds itself up 2-0 in the NLDS after winning the first two games in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers find themselves with their backs against the wall, now fighting to avoid elimination in the second-round series.

After Kershaw’s struggles in the series, the Dodgers’ season will be put in the hands of Lance Lynn, who was acquired in a midseason trade with the White Sox.

Rookie Brandon Pfaadt will make his second career postseason start for the Diamondbacks. Arizona will hope for a bounce-back performance, as Pfaadt surrendered three runs and seven hits in his first playoff start.

With a win Wednesday, the Diamondbacks will advance to the NL Conference Series for the first time since 2007.

For the Dodgers, they will look to avoid a disappointing end to their campaign after winning 100 games in the regular season.

Game 3 will begin at 9:07 p.m.
