The Florida Gators men’s and women’s tennis teams continued qualifying play today at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa and North Carolina.
Competitors need a pair of wins to earn a spot in the main draw.
Doubles Matchups
The women’s team started the day off with a doubles victory against Old Dominion University. Gators senior Sara Dahlstrom and junior Bente Spee defeated Old Dominion’s duo of Sofia Johnson and Alexandra Viktorovich 8-1.

Florida graduate student Carly Briggs and sophomore Rachel Gailis will compete in a doubles match up against Oklahoma’s Kristina Novak and Ange Oby Kajuru today at 5 p.m.
Seamless Singles
The men’s team continued a strong showing of qualifying with another five singles wins.
Junior Nate Bonetto played solid in morning action for the Gators. He defeated Florida State’s Jamie Connel in a tight matchup, 7-6.
Freshman Jeremy Jin defeated Holden Koons of Wake Forest in three sets and he’ll take on Oklahoma’s Justin Schlageter this afternoon. A time has yet to be determined.
For a third Gator sweep, graduate student JanMagnus Johnson downed Bryce Nakashima of Oklahoma, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (6). He’ll face Casey Hoole of South Carolina, next.

Two Gator sophomores added to the 10-0 Gators singles record. Tanapatt Nirundorn took down California’s Pablo MasJuan 6-3, 6-7. Olek Orlikowski topped Gonzaga’s Sasha Trkulja 6-3, 6-2 and will also play this afternoon for a spot in the main draw.
Florida men and women’s team qualifiers will compete in the main draw starting Wednesday and play runs through Sunday.
