Giants and Seahawks Take On Monday Night Football

Seattle and New York square off tonight in a Monday Night Football matchup. While the Seahawks will look to continue their high-scoring methodology, the Giants turn the narrative around their first two quarters of the game.

Seattle Game Plan: Aim for a high-scoring game

Putting up points has been Seattle’s game plan for the last two games.

In their Week 2 and Week 3 games, Geno Smith and the offense have scored more than 30 points against their opponents. When they have scored more than 30 points, they won.

Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf should be important targets for Smith. Lockett had more than 30 receiving yards and averaged more than 7 yards per reception in both of Seattle’s wins. In the team’s win against the Detroit Lions, Lockett had two touchdowns. DK Metcalf average more than 12 yards per reception in all three Seahawks games.

Another good thing for Seattle is that they have never lost a game at MetLife Stadium. So, if they can put up points early, they might walk away 6-0 in the New Jersey stadium.

Giants Game Plan: Don’t dig holes you can’t get out of

In all of the games that the Giants have played this season, they trailed by halftime.

In all of those games, it hasn’t been close.

Daniel Jones had two interceptions in their loss against Dallas and one against San Francisco. If he can complete tonight’s game without one, the Giants will be on the road to a victory.

Jones can also focus on getting his passing yards up. In his only win of the season, Jones had 321 passing yards. When he had less than 300 yards, the team lost.

Injuries

According to the Seahawks’ official site, Defensive End Dre’Mont Jones and Linebacker Derick Hall were listed as questionable for the game.

Jones was injured during the Week 3 game against the Panthers. Hall was listed as questionable after a knee injury. Notably, Jamal Adams will play for the first time this season after sustaining a quadriceps tendon, according to John Boyle on the Seahawk’s site.

The Giants‘ will be missing Saquon Barkley. In a conversation with Amazon Prime’s Taylor Rooks, Barkley said he had a high ankle sprain. Jordan Raanan of ESPN reported that the Giants will also be missing Andrew Thomas who is out with a hamstring injury.
