Struggling Georgia
Despite being 4-0 on the year, the No.1 Georgia Bulldogs have seen recent struggles in the past couple games concerning the team. The offense’s rushing game has not been able to run for more than 200 yards in a single game all year. The season has also been surrounded with a growing list of injured players. These injuries have caused Georgia to play many walk-ons and freshman in critical roles.
Another problem area for Georgia is turnovers. Mekhi Mews and Dillon Bell both fumbled on kick returns that gave UAB chances to score. Facing an Auburn team that is known for pickpocketing, Georgia needs to be careful and have better ball security heading into Saturday.
Although this Georgia team continues to not look their best, the offense amounted 581 yards against UAB and executed perfectly in the red zone, going 6 for 6 with all touchdowns. In addition, the Dawgs went 10 for 13 on third downs in the red zone, which has been another issue this season.
Heading to Auburn, Georgia can hope for another big performance from tight end Brock Bowers. Despite a slow start in 2023, Bowers finally got some star power with 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions.

Georgia will face a hostile environment in historic Jordan-Hare stadium Saturday afternoon.
The Question-Filled Tigers
It’s no secret that Auburn is trying to rebuild a once championship-caliber program with leadership of Hugh Freeze. After a dominant loss against Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M, the big question is who will lead the Tigers on Saturday in the quarterback position.
Hugh Freeze has tried to find the best guy to put at QB1 with many tests, however, no clear winner has emerged. Payton Thorne is expected to be the starter for Auburn, although he only threw for 44 yards against A&M. Robby Ashford and Holden Geriner are also going to be thrown into the mix with reps of their own. Auburn is looking for consistency in a quarterback and hope a star emerges against Georgia.
Auburn has been consistently getting their hands on the ball all season. The Tigers have five interceptions on the year and are well known for stripping ball carriers. Auburn could stay in the game if they cause Georgia enough trouble on turnovers.
Saturday in Jordan-Hare
This is Georgia’s first road game of the season in a very loud, energetic Auburn stadium. In one of the most electrifying SEC environments, Auburn’s crowd hopes to help their team with effective home-field advantage.
