Set The Tone On The Road

Not only are the Dolphins unbeaten thus far in the 2023 season, but starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, remains spotless at 5-0 in his matchups against future hall of fame coach, Bill Belichick.

Tagovailoa was 21-for-30 passing, with 249 yards, 1 touchdown, and a late interception.

He touched on how crucial a road win in primetime is for Miami this early in the season.

Mostert Shines

With the mass amount of talent that head coach Mike McDaniels has spread across his offense, different players like running back Raheem Mostert have the opportunity to shine.

Mostert lead the attack for the Dolphins, collecting 121 yards on 18 carries for 2 touchdowns; one of them being a late 46-yard rumble in the fourth quarter.

Additionally, wideout Tyreek Hill complimented the run game, collecting 5 catches for 40 yards and a touchdown.

Waddle Exits Late

Dolphin’s starting receiver Jaylen Waddle collected four catches for 86 yards before leaving the game after a hit in the fourth quarter by Patriots defensive back Marte Mapu.

Coach McDaniels briefly addressed his status following the game.

Defense Wins Games

In the second half, both defenses forced turnovers to keep the game close.

Miami corner Xavien Howard picked off Mac Jones in a contested deep pass in the third, followed by Patriot’s corner Cristian Gonzalez picking off Tagovailoa in the fourth.

The Dolphins defense secured the win with their second consecutive fourth down stop in two games.

On fourth-and 3, Mac Jones completed a pass to tight end Mike Gesicki just short of a first down. As he fell, Gesicki turned and lobbed a lateral pass to Patriot’s offensive lineman Cole Strange who bull rushed for the line to gain but was met by Andrew Van Ginkel and a company of Dolphins.

After review, the call was overturned, and the Patriot’s valiant effort bought them another loss to remain winless on the season.
