The nonconference schedule for the Gators men’s basketball 2023-2024 season has been released as of Monday.
This sets the stage for Gators men’s basketball head coach Todd Golden, as this will be his second season leading the team. In his first year coaching the Gators, Golden brought an energetic approach to the team. He connected well with players and brought a fresh approach to the basketball program. Golden’s first season with the team saw many highlights, including a win against Tennessee and also many players being awarded accolades and some moving onto the next level.

The Gators will face six different power conference opponents in terms of the nonconference schedule and will kick off the season in early November. The first game is set to take place on Monday, November 6 against Loyola Maryland. The Gators will also face Florida A&M, Florida State, Merrimack, Grambling State and Quinnipiac throughout the nonconference games.
In addition, the Gators will compete in other previously-announced events such as the Hall of Fame Series, NIT Tip-Off , ACC/SEC Challenge and Orange Bowl Classic.

Gators Look to Have a Promising Season
In preparation for the season ahead, Golden said the coaching staff has been working with players on their individual development, game situations and just getting the players in shape and prepared. He also said that during the back half of the summer the team will begin to focus more on team development and playing together, gearing them up for the season ahead.
Last season, the team was led in points by Colin Castleton, Will Richard and Riley Kugel. With the return of Richard and Kugel for the upcoming year, and the addition of several new standout recruits, the team is set to have a season to look out for.
