Gators Baseball to Host FAMU

The #3 ranked Gators Baseball team will host Florida A&M tonight at Condron Ballpark. Florida is coming off a series win versus Georgia to close out last week. Tonight’s midweek matchup will be the sole meeting between the Gators and Rattlers this regular season.

Gators Baseball Dominance

The Gators come into tonight’s game as the #3 ranked ball club in the country, a 30-7 record, and a 10-game nonconference win streak. Coming off their series win versus Georgia last week, one Gator took home an SEC weekly award. Florida’s right-handed pitcher Hurston Waldrep was honored as the SEC Pitcher of the Week after his seven-inning game vs. Georgia, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

The Gators are looking for their impressive season to continue. Florida has beaten up on non-conference opponents all season and they want tonight to be no different.

The Rattlers

A&M comes into tonight’s game with an 18-17 record this season, a 12-3 conference record, and a five-game win streak. The Rattlers currently sit in third place in the SWAC East standings. FAMU is coming off of a series sweep on the road versus Alabama A&M last week.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference awarded Joseph Pierini SWAC Baseball Weekly Honors for his performances during this past week of conference play. Pierini was named SWAC hitter of the week following 10 RBIs versus Alabama A&M.
