The No. 15 Florida Gators softball team (28-10) will host the University of North Florida (19-18) Wednesday night in a midweek matchup. Entering this game, the Gators are coming off of a series win against Auburn. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.

Gators SEC Play
Anything but consistent has been prevalent for Florida in recent SEC play. After defeating Missouri in its first SEC series of the year, the team lost to Arkansas and South Carolina in three-game series. However, they rebounded and defeated Auburn on home turf over the weekend.
In the Gators’ most recent affair with the Tigers, Skylar Wallace continued her dominance at the plate. Wallace hit .375 against the Tigers, recording a hit in all three games. She leads the team in batting average, hitting .427.
Additionally, Wallace is now tied for third all-time in triples in Florida softball history. She has hit 12 triples, tying her with Amanda Lorenz and Michelle Moultrie.
This season’s team’s batting average is .437 and it ranks as the third highest in program history.
North Florida
The Ospreys are coming into this game looking to end its recent struggles. The team was swept by Liberty over the weekend at home and look to snap an eight game losing streak. Their closest fight with Liberty was in the second game of the series, losing 12-9.
As a team, this squad has posted a .250 batting average and are lead by Shannon Glove, Chloe Culp and Kayla Harper. All three hitters are batting .300 or better. Glove leads the trio with a .356 batting average and has recorded seven home runs and 25 RBIs. Culp leads the team in RBIs with 31, and has 13 doubles on the year.
On the mound, both Ashley Connor and Izzy Kelly have posted a 2.66 ERA on the year. In 110.2 innings, Connor has 74 strikeouts and five complete games while Kelly has 44 strikeouts in 76.1 inning pitched.
First pitch is at 6 p.m. at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.
