Monday was senior night at Oak Hall for the girl’s lacrosse team as they took on crosstown opponent Gainesville High. The team celebrated their one senior, defender Kelly Gill, on a night they called “Kelly night”. After the ceremony, the Eagles went on to trounce the Lady Canes 20-2, continuing their perfect 4-0 record against district opponents.
Key To Success
Any time Gainesville had the ball, it was a surprise. The Eagles dominated possession, winning faceoffs and controlling the flow of the game. Their offense ran off of feeds from X and keeping the ball moving. Cutters were often rewarded as they scored a majority of their goals on passes to the crease. Gainesville’s defense couldn’t keep up despite their good communication.
Top Performers
Leila Sims (18) was facing off for Oak Hall and had an amazing game, scoring 5 goals while also having 1 assist. Sophia Moreschi (22) racked up 5 assists and also had 2 goals. Sarah Miller (8) had a hat trick. To cap off the night, Kelly Gill, the only senior, scored on her night.
Both the Canes and Eagles goalies racked up some nice saves as well. Eagles goalie Savannah Loges (26) was not tested often but made some solid saves when she had the chance and did well at clearing the ball and getting her team some easy fast breaks. The Gainesville goalie was peppered with shots and made some impressive one-on-one saves but struggled to clear the ball leading to extra possessions for Oak Hall.

For Oak Hall, Monday night was its last game of the year, finishing the season with a 9-4 record and staying undefeated in district play.
