Gamecocks Overpower the Bruins

So far, South Carolina has continued to demonstrate their incredible abilities as a team. Currently undefeated, the Gamecocks are one game away from advancing into the Final Four.

During their game against UCLA, the Bruins struggled to keep up with South Carolina’s pace. Though a majority of the game was a low-scoring affair between both teams, South Carolina never trailed.

South Carolina’s senior Aliyah Boston had a strong game, getting herself eight points and 14 rebounds. In addition, teammate Brea Beal elevated South Carolina’s scoring with 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Maryland Surge Past Notre Dame

Maryland took down No. 3 seed Notre Dame 76-59 during Saturday’s Sweet 16 game. The Terps have now re-entered the Elite Eight for the first time since 2015.

Maryland was at an advantage after Notre Dame lost their guard Olivia Miles to a knee injury. Despite that, Notre Dame maintained a good fight during the first quarter.

During the second quarter, Maryland’s offense began to tumble, starting the quarter 1-for-6 with five turnovers. After failing to score for over six minutes of gameplay, Maryland was at a 13-0 disadvantage from Notre Dame.

With the assistance and comeback from Diamond Miller, her three-pointer, free throw, and assist during the final minutes, brought the Terps up 32-31.
