Buckeyes Balling
Ohio State heads into the Virginia Tech game having upset No. 2 seed UConn 73-61 on Saturday.
The loss to Ohio State meant that the Huskies won’t be in the Elite Eight for the first time in 16 years. It was the longest-standing streak in either women’s or men’s college basketball.
Ohio State’s defense seemed to be the most prominent factor in their upset of the Huskies. Forcing 18 turnovers in the first half alone, the Buckeyes will look to bring the defensive prowess against the Hokies.
The Huskies fall to Ohio State 73-61 in the Sweet 16.
The loss snaps a 16-year streak for UConn making the Elite 8, and snaps a 14-year streak of making the Final Four, both the longest streaks in men's or women's NCAA Tournament history. https://t.co/emwBcS0EnM pic.twitter.com/5PlcXLyFPy

Hokies Hopes
Virginia Tech on the other hand is one of only two No. 1 seeds remaining in the tournament.
They faced No. 4 seed Tennessee in the Sweet 16, winning by nine. Leading the Hokies was Georgia Amoore putting up 29 on the way to a convincing win.
Their run has been a bit of a Cinderella story. It is the first time in the team’s history that they have reached the Elite Eight. With that said Virginia Tech produced over 30 wins on their season and earned their No. 1 seed.

Ohio State will look to trap the Hokies with their great defense and team press, while the Hokies will turn to their stars and role players such as Amoore for more of the same magic.
Tip-off for Monday’s game is set for 9 p.m.
