Four Men’s Hoops Teams Punch Their Ticket to NCAA Tournament

Conference championship season is in full swing and a major question reigns over NCAA teams: Who will be dancing in the NCAA Tournament?

Kennesaw State sealed its spot in the 68-team tournament after a 67-66 win over Liberty in the Atlantic Sun Championship on Sunday. Despite Kyle Rode’s dominant 23-point performance for the Flames, KSU’s strong second half punched its ticket to the tournament.

The Big South Championship pushed UNC-Asheville into March Madness after a 77-73 win against Campbell. Campbell made it to the finals as the No. 7 seed while the 27-7 Bulldogs remained on top as the No. 1 seed.

The Drake Bulldogs demolished the Bradley Braves in the Missouri Valley Championship. Tucker DeVries put up 22 points for Drake, leading them to 77-51 upset win over the Braves. The Bulldogs came into the tournament as the two-seed while Bradley was the top seed in the conference.

Southeast Missouri rallied over Tennessee Tech on Saturday in a 89-82 contest. SEMO had been dominant throughout the Ohio Valley Tournament including a 65-58 win over top-seeded Morehead State in the semifinals.

Upcoming Tournaments

Chattanooga is set to face Furman on Monday in the Southern Conference Championship. Chattanooga has been dominant in the SoCon tournament despite being the No. 7 seed. Top-seeded Furman won by a slim three points over Western Carolina in the semifinal while Chattanooga took a 12-point win over Wofford.

The Sun Belt Conference decides a winner on Monday, as well. The eighth-seeded South Alabama Jaguars play the UL Lafayette Rajin’ Cajuns for the conference championship.

Oral Robert also lines up against St. Thomas (MN) on Monday for the Summit League semifinal. Oral Roberts took a 96-80 dominant win over North Dakota on Saturday and are a strong one-seed moving onto the next round. The Summit League championship is set to be played on Thursday.
