Vanderbilt (15-12)
In its last matchup, the Commodores took down Auburn in a nail biter 67-65. Forward Liam Robbins led the team with 24 points and 12 rebounds. The team also pulled off an upset over then No. 6 Tennessee on a buzzer-beater on Feb. 8 to earn its second ranked win of the season. Vanderbilt is tied for the longest active winning streak in the SEC and the Commodores don’t play a ranked opponent in its last four regular season games.
Robbins is a powerful force that towers the court coming in at 7-foot. He averages 15.1 points per game and 6.9 rebounds per game. He’s also ranked fourth in the NCAA in blocks, averaging three blocks per game. Other key players include Myles Stute and Ezra Manjon. Stute is the top 3-point shooter for the Commodores while Manjon leads the team in assists, averaging 3.6 assists per game.
LSU (12-15)
LSU had an impressive start to the season winning 12 of its first 13 games. However, the Tigers have lost 14 straight games and are struggling immensely. The Tigers rank last in the SEC for field goal percentage and points per game.
Two players average double figures for the Tigers. KJ Williams averages 16 points per game and Adam Miller averages 11.4 points per game. Junior Cam Hayes should be on the radar, as well, especially after his performance against South Carolina on Saturday. He scored 25 points while leading LSU in assists, steals and rebounds despite the loss. The Gamecocks pulled away late to hand the Tigers its 14th straight defeat.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in Baton Rouge.
