The ACC has gotten even better as the college football season has progressed. There are currently 5 ACC teams ranked, which is the second most among all power five conferences. With only a few weeks left until the end of the regular season, teams have some crucial conference matchups that they must win.

No. 5 Clemson
The Tigers are currently the only 8-0 team in the nation. They have had some tremendous yet shaky performances in their games so far. Last week’s win over Syracuse came down to the wire. Quarterback DJ Uigaleilei was benched yet again for freshman Cade Klubnik. Klubnik came in and lead the Tigers on a comeback that won them the game in the final minutes. Nonetheless, they have a much-needed bye week. They’ll utilize the time off to gameplan how they can finish off the season undefeated and contend for a playoff spot.
No. 10 Wake Forest
Wake Forest has been having the season that many predicted. With only a close and hard-fought loss to Clemson, they have since dominated the ACC. They seem to have the gears rolling, and quarterback Sam Hartman is putting up historic numbers. The Demon Deacons take on Louisville this Saturday afternoon. The Cardinals haven’t been the best this season, so Wake Forest should come out with a fairly dominant win.

No. 16 Syracuse
The Syracuse Orange have been one of the most surprising teams in all of college football. They were undefeated coming into last week and managed to have an 11-point lead going into the fourth quarter. The game was played at Death Valley and was against a top 5 team. Syracuse has the potential to compete for an ACC title at the end of the season due to their terrific run game and defense.

No. 21 UNC
Of the 5 ACC teams ranked in the top 25, UNC is the only one making its debut this week. The Tarheels are one of only two teams in the ACC who are undefeated in conference play. Their quarterback Drake Maye has been in serious conversations to contend for the Heisman. He has thrown for 2283 yards and 24 touchdowns. UNC’s offense isn’t turning the ball over on a frequent basis, but their defense is who keeps them in these really close games.

No. 24 NC State
The Wolfpack came into the season with high expectations and have since not met them. With losses to Clemson and Syracuse, their hopes of a playoff spot are essentially diminished. It even took a late-game touchdown to beat Virginia Tech on Thursday night. The Wolfpack need to win out if they want to compete for the ACC title. Another conference loss could completely eliminate them from the ACC title contention.
