Jaguars Welcome Giants in Week Seven

The Jacksonville Jaguars host the New York Giants in a week seven NFL matchup. Kickoff is Sunday at 1 p.m. at TIAA Bank Field.

The Jags enter the game looking to break a three-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Giants are riding the momentum of a 5-1 record.

Jags Make Changes

Travis Etienne Jr. was recently named the starting running back for the Jags over James Robinson. Etienne posted 86 yards on 10 carries against the Colts, as well as 71 yards on 10 carries against the Texans in week five.

The Giants bring the 28th-ranked rush defense to the field, which could give Etienne the opportunity to have another breakthrough game on the ground.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence went 20-for-22 on 165 yards passing in the Jags’ loss to the Colts, last week. Although Lawrence posted a high completion percentage, he was sacked four times.

Giants Rolling

New York is off to its best start since 2009. Boasting a 5-1 record, the Giants are looking to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Quarterback Daniel Jones is leading the way offensively with a 67% pass completion rate. He completed 19-of-27 passes for 173 yards in the Giants’ win over the Baltimore Ravens, last week.

Saquon Barkley not only leads the Giants in yards from scrimmage, but he also leads the NFL. Barkley has posted 616 rushing yards, as well as 155 receiving yards this season.

Richie James has caught 19 passes for 189 yards to lead the Giants in receiving yards. New York is currently without wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney, as well as linebacker Azeez Ojulari due to injury.

Most Recent Meeting

The last time the Jags and Giants faced off was in 2018. The Jaguars defeated the Giants 20-15 in New Jersey.

Sunday’s game is set to kick off at 1 p.m.
