On Wednesday the UGA volleyball team will head to Gainesville for a match against the No. 11 Florida Gators. Since their first matchup in 1985, they have had 76 matches against each other. The Gators have won 68 times since 1985 giving them an overall win percentage of over 89%.

The Last Match
The Gators and the Dawgs last had a volleyball match Sept. 29, 2021 in Athens, Georgia. The Gators took a win 3-0. During the two sets the Gators had an easy sweep with a win of 25-14, then 25-17. The last set was a little more challenging, but the Gators took the win 26-24.
Overall UF had 47 kills. T’Ara Ceasar lead the team with 13 kills, three aces and three blocks. Georgia had a total of 31 kills throughout the game. Amber Stivrins had 10 kills total and one ace.
Last Match for UGA
Georgia headed to Alabama during its last game to play against Auburn. Auburn took the win with a score of 3-2. Overall the match was close between the two teams, during the first two sets Auburn took the lead with 25-22, then 25-21. In the third and fourth set Georgia took the lead with a score of 25-15, then 26-24. The last set was very close with Auburn taking the lead, 16-14.
Georgia had a total of 58 kills, 11 aces and 13 blocks by the end of the game. Amber Stivrins had a season-high of 17 kills, with three aces and one block. Kacie Evans and Sophie Fischer each had 11 kills during the match.
Florida’s Last Match
The Gators headed over to Mississippi for the last matchup against Mississippi State. The Gators took a win against the Bulldogs 3-0. The first two sets had a score of 25-19, then finishing it off with 25-22.

Florida had a total of 50 kills, four aces and six blocks. Sofia Victoria had a total of 14 kills and one block. Merritt Beason had 13 kills, two aces and one block. Marina Markova had 10 kills and one block.
