Colts Edge Jaguars Late

The divisional rivals went down to the wire in Indianapolis with the Colts coming out on top over the Jaguars.

Game Summary

Going into Sunday, both the Jaguars and Colts had been struggling offensively. They both put those woes behind them in what became a great game to watch. The Jags jumped out in front early with a Trevor Lawrence rushing TD in the first quarter. After a Colts field goal to start the second quarter, the Jags struck again. This time they struck from distance on the ground. JaMycal Hasty took a handoff on the right side and took it 61 yards for the score.

The Colts finished the half on ten unanswered points bringing the score to 14-13 Jags. Another two yard touchdown run from Lawrence made it an eight point lead in the third quarter. The Colts came roaring back with two short touchdown passes from Matt Ryan giving them a 26-21 lead. The Jags responded with a great drive late in the fourth. It was capped off by a four yard touchdown pass from Lawrence to Christian Kirk. With 2:44 remaining the Colts walked the ball down the field. With just 17 seconds remaining the Colts put the game on ice. Matt Ryan touch pass down the sideline connects with rookie receiver Alec Pierce putting the Colts up 34-27.

Where to From Here for the Jaguars and Colts

The now 2-4 Jags can still take some positive aspects from the loss. A struggling Trevor Lawrence completed 20-22 passes and threw no interceptions. The ground attack was huge for the Jags. The team number reached to 243 yards by the end of the day. The Jags host the red hot New York Giants on Sunday.

The Colts are finally above .500 for the first time this year. Matt Ryan set a career high in completions and really had a field day propelling the to the win. He went 42/58 for 389 yards and three touchdowns. The Colts will head to Tennessee to take on the Titans next week.
