The Los Angeles Chargers host their division rival, the Denver Broncos Monday night. Denver is 4-2 in the last six matchups against Los Angeles, but an 0-2 record on the road this season might give the Chargers an advantage.
A Slow Start for Denver
Broncos fans rejoiced when a deal sent former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver. Unfortunately, it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing since. Boasting a 2-3 record so far this season, head coach Nathaniel Hackett and his offense rarely seem to be on the same page.
The Broncos have scored six touchdowns through five games and rank 30th in scoring and third-down conversions. In last week’s loss to the Colts, Denver put up only nine points, none of which were touchdowns. Even when the defense came up with turnovers, the Denver offense could no capitalize.
Wilson was playing through an injured shoulder, and he struggled with accuracy. Wilson threw an end zone interception, preventing Denver from sealing the deal over Indianapolis.

Defense is Key
A strong Broncos defense will be key in Monday’s matchup. Last week the Denver defense was the team’s saving grace, holding Indianapolis quarterback Matt Ryan to under seven yards per attempt and racking up six sacks and two interceptions. Both interceptions belonged to safety Caden Sterns.

Chargers on a High
The Chargers are fresh off a 30-28 win over the Browns last week, though they may have a missed field goal by Cleveland to thank.
Los Angeles quarterback Justin Herbert threw for just 228 yards and had one touchdown. The real star of this Chargers team was running back Austin Ekeler. Ekeler amassed 173 yards rushing and a touchdown.

The Los Angeles defense picked up an interception of its own, with safety Alohi Gilman picking off Browns quarterback Jacoby Brissett in the end zone.
