Florida Hosts LSU for Primetime Matchup

The Florida Gators take on the LSU Tigers for a primetime SEC football matchup Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Both teams enter the game holding onto a 4-2 record.

Eventful Evening

Mick Hubert is returning to The Swamp for the first time to serve as “Mr. Two Bits” before kickoff. Hubert was the “Voice of the Gators” for 33 years before retiring in May.

Saturday marks the inaugural Tom Petty Day at The Swamp. The Gators will honor the music legend and Gainesville native at the LSU game.

Florida Gains Momentum

Florida is coming off back-to-back home wins against Eastern Washington and Missouri.

The Gators rank third in FBS with 6.4 yards per carry. Running backs Montrell Johnson Jr. and Trevor Etienne rank second and fourth in the SEC in YPC, while quarterback Anthony Richardson ranks seventh. Against Missouri last week, Johnson Jr. led the team with 86 rushing yards on eight carries.

LSU Looks to Bounce Back

LSU is coming off a 40-13 loss to No. 8 Tennessee in Death Valley last week. The Tigers were led by quarterback Jayden Daniels who threw for 300 yards and tallied one touchdown. Daniels also led the team in rush yards with 38 yards on 16 carries.

Malik Nabers caught six passes for 80 yards to lead the LSU receiving corp.

The Tigers are looking to move on from last week’s loss as they approach the game against the Gators. LSU Head Coach Brian Kelly spoke on the Tigers’ trip to Gainesville.

The SEC matchup between the Gators and Tigers kicks off at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
