The 2022 NFL Training Camp has begun. All players reported to camp on Tuesday but the first day of practice for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was Wednesday.
New Head Coach
The Buccaneers enter training camp with a new head coach. They promoted Todd Bowles to the position after he was formerly the defensive coordinator beginning in 2019. Former head coach Bruce Arians stepped aside and decided to change roles and become Senior Football Consultant for the Buccaneers.
In his first year as head coach of the Buccaneers, Bowles will be starting up a slightly new system for the team during training camp. Bowles said that there are plenty of position battles that will take place in the coming weeks.

Julio Jones Joins the Buccaneers
Julio Jones signed a one-year deal with the team on Tuesday. The former Falcon and Titan ranks 17th in NFL history for receiving yards. During his time with the Falcons, Jones earned seven Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro selections.
Jones spent a good portion of his 2021 season with the Titans dealing with injuries as well as being on the COVID list. He has missed a total of 14 games since 2020 due to injury. The Titans released him on a Post-June 1 designation. Bowles has stated that Jones is now healthy and will be monitored throughout camp.
Jones said in a press conference on the first day of camp that he is excited to get to work in his first year with the franchise.
"It's a great opportunity for me to be a part of something special."
