No. 2 Florida Gators gymnastics will continue their hunt for a fourth NCAA championship this week in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Field
The No. 2 Gators were able to steal the show at the Auburn regional and took the crown going into the National Championship.
Seven of the top eight teams seeds advanced to the NCAA championships from the regional round. Along with seven of the top eight seeds, No.11 Missouri joins the final field.
Half of the teams in the field are representing the SEC between Florida, Alabama, Auburn and Missouri.

Gators Top Performers
The Gators have two of the nation’s top all-around totals between Trinity Thomas (39.90) and Leanne Wong (39.875). Both scores were earned in the NCAA Auburn Regional final.
Wong, a freshman, earned her first perfect vault during the regional finals. She became the nation’s first freshman with a perfect mark in 2022 after closing January with the season’s first perfect uneven bars.
Thomas also earned 2022 SEC Gymnast of the Year for the second time in her career this season. Thomas won the SEC all-around, vault and floor tiles; Wong got top honors in beam.
The Gators are also the only team with two All-Americans on their team.
Thomas, a senior, looks to finish her legendary Gator career strong with a championship.
This has been one of the most historic seasons for a gator gymnast in recent history for Thomas. During the 2022 season, Thomas completed the ‘season slam’ in gymnastics. The season slam is when a gymnast scores a 10.0 in each event. There have been 12 other gymnasts in NCAA history that have completed this feat. Thomas is the first Gator to ever to accomplish this.
The Gators will start off the weekend by facing Missouri, Michigan and Auburn. Florida looks to dethrone Oklahoma from the top spot in the country behind the leadership of Thomas.
