Gator Softball This Season
Florida opened their season 16-0 and was ranked in the top 10 for the eighth consecutive season. They are currently 4-2 in the SEC with wins coming against Mississippi State and Texas A&M. They will be competing against Stetson university in DeLand at 6 p.m. and at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium Wednesday. This is the Gators’ 11th consecutive SEC regular season series victory, dating back to 2020. They are entering the week 25-3 overall.
Last weekend, they took on Texas A&M two games to one in College Station with wins on Friday and Sunday. The last time the Gators lost a SEC regular season series was during the last series of the 2019 regular season against Mississippi State.

Entering the week, the Orange and Blue’s offense is ranked 8th nationally with a batting average that marks a .351 at the plate. Freshman Kendra Falby, fifth year senior Hannah Adams, redshirt-junior Skylar Wallace, and sophomore Katie Kistler are leading the way with their averages. There are three notable players who are leading the base percentage (.434). Wallace is leading the team with 30 RBI, senior Charla Echols with 28 RBI, and freshman Reagan Walsh with 27 this year. Altogether, the team has stolen 71 bases with Wallace contributing 22 and Falby with 20.

Stetson Updates as They Head into the Week
Stetson enters the week after their ASUN conference season opener last week against North Alabama (2-1). For the Hatters, this was their fifth conference-opening weekend series win in the last eight years, and they are now 5-4-1 in their last 10, including 4-2 on the road. Over the weekend, Stetson handed North Alabama (22-7, 1-2 ASUN) its first two losses at home.

They are currently led by Brianna Clary, Danielle Diaz, Morgan Evette, and Haley Fox as they sport batting averages over .300. Their pitching staff holds a team 4.68 ERA with four pitchers having over 30.0 innings. Lauren Hobbs leads the team with a 3.02 ERA over 59.2 innings with 39 strikeouts and a .266 batting average against.
