Several Florida high school basketball teams were in action Thursday to compete in regional quarterfinals and semifinals games in the 2018 Florida High School Athletic Association tournament.
Among the victors were Gainesville, Eastside, P.K. Yonge, St. Francis, Englewood, Raines, Bolles, Hawthorne, Wildwood and Bell.
Several more tournament games will be played this Tuesday.
Tuesday's boys basketball matchups:
7A reg. semi: Gainesville at Englewood
6A reg. semi: Eastside at Palatka
4A reg. final: Providence at PK Yonge

Gainesville and Jacksonville Schools in Charge
Gainesville and Jacksonville’s high schools were particularly successful, with Gainesville high schools winning all four of their matchups and Jacksonville teams winning three of theirs.
Class 7A
Gainesville High School dominated its Class 7A regional quarterfinal matchup against St. Augustine, winning 74-36. Englewood narrowly escaped Columbia 70-64.
Gainesville and Englewood will play next Tuesday in a regional semifinal at 7 p.m. The winner of the semifinal will take on the winner of Crestview vs. Choctawhatchee in the final.
Class 6A
Eastside were victorious at home against Ponte Vedra, beating the sharks 70-59. The Rams will play Palatka Tuesday to fight for a place in the regional final.
Class 5A
Raines were the overwhelming favorites in their Thursday night matchup against Newberry, beating the Panthers 75-35. Fellow Jacksonville high school Bolles were also victorious, defeating Bradford 55-45.
Raines will host Bolles in an all-Jacksonville regional semifinal matchup. The games will tip off at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
Class 4A
Gainesville-based P.K. Yonge slipped by Bishop Snyder in their regional semifinal bout Thursday night by a score of 53-47.

P.K Yonge will host Providence School in the regional final on Tuesday, which will tip off at 7 p.m.
Class 3A
St. Francis Catholic eased by North Florida Christian 53-32 in their regional semifinal. The Wolves will take on Florida A&M Tuesday in a regional final, starting at 7 p.m.
Class 1A
Several Class 1A teams were in action on Thursday.
Hawthorne vs. Hamilton proved to be an offensive dogfight, with Hawthorne victorious 78-70 in their regional semifinal. Wildwood defeated Dixie County 64-45. Bell were able to shut down Frostproof, winning 66-28.
Hawthorne will visit Madison County on Tuesday for their regional final. Wildwood and Bell will square off on Thursday. Both games will tip off at 7 p.m.
