After winning their first district title since 2013, the St. Francis boys’ basketball team is hosting North Florida Christian in the regional semifinal. St. Francis went undefeated in district play, but head coach Isaac Silva believes they have improved immensely — Silva believes his team has shown the most growth in their decision making.
No Guarantees
Despite being district champions, the Wolves know the regional semifinal will not be a walk in the park. North Florida Christian was an underdog in every game of their district tournament, making it all the way to the district championship before losing. With the win or go home scenario in play, the Eagles will come into St. Francis with a chip on their shoulder.
Coach Silva’s Keys To Victory
When on the air with WRUF’s Steve Russell, Silva highlighted what his team will need to do on Thursday night.
- Protect the ball
- Box-out
Coach Silva knows they have to control the tempo in order to advance to the next round of regional play.
