Tim Tebow and the St. Lucie Mets had the bats blazin’ with 11 hits Sunday when they faced the Atlanta Braves Class A-Advanced affiliate the Florida Fire Frogs in game three of a four-game series. Going into last night’s game, the Fire Frogs were winning their home series 2-0 at Osceola County Stadium in Kissimmee, FL. However, the St. Lucie Mets were able to hold off the Fire Frogs from winning the series with a 3-2 win.

Tebow’s Home-Run
Tebow gave fans their moneys worth in last night’s game with his performance on both offense and defense. He recorded two outs while playing Left Field and chased down a few grounders. Tebow went 2-4 at the plate and now has a .317 batting average, .398 on base percentage, and .549 slugging percentage.
The big story of last night’s game came in the 4th inning, when Tebow smashed a home run over the right field wall to tie the game up 2-2. This is Tebow’s fourth home run since being promoted to the St. Lucie Mets.

Also, Tebow hit a nice double to left field in the 8th inning.
Game Break Down
The Florida Fire Frogs were first on the board with a home run from third baseman Andrew Daniel in the second inning. They upped the lead to 2-0 in the third inning with a double from the DH, Brett Cumberland, that brought in second baseman Alay Lago from first.
That’s about the time the St. Lucie Mets started to get the ball rollin’. In the fourth, Jhoan Urena hit a deep ball to center field and earned himself a triple. Former Gator Peter Alonso then drove him in with an RBI groundout.
With the Florida Fire Frogs still up 2-1 in the fourth, Tebow hit his home run to tie the game up 2-2.
Later in the sixth inning, St. Lucie Mets’ own Patrick Mazeika hit a double that brought in second baseman Jeff McNeil. That made the game 3-2 St. Lucie Mets.
Fun at the Ball Park
The Florida Fire Frogs seem to be enjoying their inaugural season. The Class A-Advanced team of the Atlanta Braves were previously known as the Brevard county Manatees from 1994-2016.
The Florida Fire Frogs were celebrating ‘Christmas in July’ Sunday at Osceola County Stadium. However, it seemed more like Christmas for the St. Lucie Mets with Tebow having such a great game and them earning the win.
Tebow Time
After the game, Tebow made an effort to sign as many autographs as possible. This was no easy task considering that an overwhelming amount of the fans were wearing Tebow jerseys ranging from his Florida days, Pro Football days, and now baseball.
Next Game
The final game of the four game series continues today, July 24, at Osceola County Stadium with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. The Fire Frogs Lead the series 2-1.
