Texas A&M (8-4) vs. Kansas State (8-4), AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl in Houston, TX (ESPN/9.m. ET)
These two teams are trending in opposite directions. Remember when the Aggies were ranked fourth in the first College Football Playoff Rankings? They’ve now lost four of the last six and their only two wins in that span came against New Mexico State and University of Texas at San Antonio. The Wildcats on the other hand are winners of their last three , and five of last six. K-State boasts one of the best run games in CFB. They are 30th in FBS with 232 yards per game led by QB Jesse Ertz’s 950 yards.
TAMU’s chance of winning depends on either forcing Ertz to throw it in the air (56 percent completion rate, 2:1 TD:INT ratio) or kicking their own offense into high gear. The Aggies have been more productive than Kansas State, but they’re only 75th in defending the run. It’s up to future NFL first rounder DE Myles Garret to stop Ertz from taking off.
